You pay.
Halves splits it.

Connect your card and Halves spots the payments you share, works out who they were for and splits them in a swipe. No typing it all in later.

Card payments

Tap your card. Halves does the rest.

Connect the cards you pay with. Each time you pay, Halves checks whether the payment looks shared and who it was for: the trip, the flat, a friend or just you. Shared ones wait for a swipe. Personal ones stay private.

  1. 1

    Connect your card

Approve it in your bank’s app in about a minute. Halves can see your payments. It can never move money.

  2. 2

    Halves sorts every payment

It learns your groups and habits, then works out where each payment belongs.

  3. 3

    Swipe to split

Right adds it to the group and tells everyone. Left keeps it to yourself.

Itemised bills

Everyone picks what they had.

Scan the receipt once and share it with the table. Each person taps their own items on their own phone, all at the same time. Shared the wine? Everyone who had some taps it. When the last person’s done, it goes straight into balances.

  • Reads the receipt for youPoint the camera at it. Halves lists every line.
  • Live at the tablePicks show up on everyone’s phone as they happen.
  • Service and tips, shared fairlyAdded on top of what each person had.

Sharing

Getting everyone in takes one link.

Friends join from a link on iPhone, Android or the web. Add people before they join, and their spot is waiting when they do.

Join from one link

Drop the link in the group chat. Friends tap it and they’re in, with nothing to set up.

Placeholders for everyone else

Split with people before they’ve joined. When they do, their history is waiting.

Every currency, one balance

Pay in euros. See what you’re owed in pounds, at today’s rate.

Settle up your way

Pay each other back however you like, then record it in a tap. Everyone’s balance updates. Halves never touches your money.

Coming from Splitwise? Bring your groups.

Export a group from Splitwise as a spreadsheet and open it in Halves. Balances, history and people come across, and friends who haven’t joined yet become placeholders.

Questions

Good to know.

Is Halves free?

Yes. Splitting, receipts, currencies and settling up are free, with no ads and no daily limit. Halves Pro adds your card payments, sorted for you.

Is connecting my card safe?

Halves connects through Open Banking, the regulated system UK banks use to share data with apps. You approve it in your bank’s own app, the connection can only read payments, and you can disconnect at any time.

Who can see my card payments?

Only you. A payment reaches a group or a friend only when you add it. Anything you keep personal stays private.

Do my friends need the app?

They can join from a link on iPhone, Android or the web. You can also add people as placeholders and split with them before they join.

Does Halves move money?

No. Pay each other back however you like, then record it in Halves so everyone’s balance stays right.

Can I bring my Splitwise history?

Yes. Export a group from Splitwise as a spreadsheet and open it in Halves. You choose which row is you, and everyone else comes across as a placeholder until they join.

Stop doing the maths.

Halves is free on iPhone, Android and the web.
